I’m on a massive declutter spree, starting with the contents of my attic. I'm mostly donating anything unwanted, rather than selling where I can.
On my most recent visit to the Pile of Doom that I swear is growing up there, I retrieved two unwanted toilet brushes. We bought them when we moved in, but they aren’t needed any more after we refurbished the bathrooms. I can’t decide what to do with them.
On the one hand – Toilet brushes are bad enough, but used toilet brushes?! Eugh! Burn them! Burn them with fire! Or at least just send them to the tip.
On the other hand – They are Brabantia ones that are still current models, and they sell brand new for £50+ on Amazon. The brushes are replaceable, so I could just remove the current ones, disinfect the actual holder (which are both in perfect condition) and send them to charity, who can make a decent bit of cash from them. Whoever buys them just needs a new brush to go with them.
I feel that the environmentally and socially conscious thing to do is donate them, but is that just too disgusting to contemplate?
