washing machine drawer ,can i wash it in the dishwasher?

I was mine in my dishwasher - always comes out fine.

They always get disgusting.

Leave it to soak overnight in a bucket full of very hot water and liquid Ajax. Then scrub with an old toothbrush around the joins.

Yes, you can, I asked the engineer this last week, and he said no problem at all, but just to be sure make sure its upside down in the top tray, so that hot water doesn't sit in it. Not sure I fancy putting it in with my food plates though, so I'll do it next time I give the dishwasher a claning tablet.

I do the same as Anna but always wondered about the dishwasher. Too scared to try in case it came out all misshapen

mine is gross as well - i pull it out and try and wipe the inside with baby wipes every now and again
Anyone got any tips to get the actual drum to not smell so musty??!!

I did a 'cleansing wash' as advised on the nappy section, which involves a scoop full of bicarbonate of soda in the drawer with a good slosh of white vinegar in the softener part.

Not sure it made that much of a difference though as the next load of dirty nappies went in soon after

I put mine in the dishwasher. I do the frideg drawers and shelves and my chrome plate drainer at same time. All comes out very shiney.

It is weird how revoltingly gunky those soap drawers get.

I know you'd think they'd have designed a non gunky drawer by now fgs!

Don't do what I did which is clean the washing machine with soda crystals. Where is leaked out of the machine & gunked up drawer it stripped the paint off

Why do they get so gunky? This is a design fault. Do the manufacturers know?

I buy a special washing machine cleaning product and use that from time to time. Ask at your ironmonger's for a recommendation.
