How to separate these two mugs?

These messages are stuck fast. Any tips for separating them?

Sit the bottom one in boiling water and see if it loosens it.

Immerse in cold water?

Trickle oil into the cup?

WD40?

Fairy liquid and warm water?

Put them in the freezer. Wait a day. Should work... works for glasses.

Put them on their side and tap gently on a firm surface.

Stand bottom one in hot water and fill top one with very cold water.

Just lay them on their side on a hand towel

I'd put them in the freezer as a last resort. I tried this and one of the cups broke.

Tap the bottom mug with a wooden spoon a few times, obviously not too hard, it’s like an air lock.

Put them in a sink of soapy warm
Water they should slide apart

I'd go with that too - it worked on 2 mixing bowls a couple of weeks ago. Good luck!
