Removal of watermark?

I have a watermark on my Cream Sofa, does anyone have any tips to get this out?

not sure is it leather what has left water mark?

they do say to wash with washing up liquid then rinse with clean water and blow dry ammediately but not sure if works never done it and dont want to take any blame if it worsens lol

washing up liquid in water as foamy consistency on cloth not straight onto stain
