Organising American style freezer

Help! I'm finding it difficult to get used to the American style freezer with shelves. All the food is jumbled on the shelves and often falls out when I'm rummaging. I need some baskets or a way of organising everything. Any tips?

I've changed from side by side to a hybrid - two door fridge at top and two freezer drawers underneath. Much better. For me too, the freezer of American style was the issue because I cook and bake, so it wasn't a matter of stacking neat boxes and bags.

I did buy some baskets that fitted across the width, soI could stand my silicone bags up in the basket and put some pyrex dishes underneath. Took a lot of Amazon searching to find some just the right size.

Other than that, it's a case of keeping what you grab all the time on one shelf, and keep less useful stuff at the bottom.

Never really mastered it - love my big drawers now where I can see everything - still needs organising, but easier.

Oof! Changing fridge freezer is the nuclear option!! Though it's reassuring to hear it's not just me that struggles with this. I think I need to have a big clear out and have a search for some baskets
