Duvet - the type you'd get in a nice hotel...

Random Saturday evening question.... anyone know where I could get a double duvet that feels like they type you'd get at a luxury hotel?

You know, the sort that's thick but feels like you are sleeping in a cloud?

Could you ask housekeeping in one of those hotels where they get theirs from?

OldTinHat · 18/09/2022 18:43

I'd like to know about the pillows!

CombatBarbie · 18/09/2022 18:51

Out of Eden gets mentioned frequently on here. I usually look at the tags on the bedding

Soproudoflionesses · 18/09/2022 19:08

Following this!

I wanna know this to. Also the bedding its self. Where is it all from? always so much nicer than what you get in the normal shops.

I just bought a silk duvet and pillows from Next
Not expensive and it’s like sleeping in clouds

Premier Inn always use Fogarty duvets. i love them and have them at home too.

iwishihadabox · 08/10/2022 20:51

You can buy premier inn duvets and pillows.

Moonatics · 08/10/2022 20:55

No idea about the quilts but the covers and towels are often from king of cotton.
Look at the labels next time for duvets.
I often Google stuff while I'm on holiday, had some lovely lamps and pictures and fittings in accommodation I've stayed in. Now have a gorgeous light fitting too.

Ekerty72 · 08/10/2022 20:57

We bought a Premier Inn winter duvet and it is lush :-)
We are having building work done at the monent so only have a plastic sheet as a roof in our bedroom, so its baltic. Duvet is amazing, so warm. We struggle to get out of bed in the morning!

MrsDrDear · 08/10/2022 20:58

After scrutinising the label on a holiday cottage duvet, we bought a Next feather & down one.

It's got that hotel bedding crunch if you know what I mean.

You need goose down (Canadian or Hungarian) that’s how you get that cloud feel.

butterflycatcher · 08/10/2022 21:25

Can recommend the bed linen and towels from Tielle Love Luxury

princesssparklepants · 09/10/2022 20:07

We ended up buying a feather and Down one from dunelm. Think it was a fogarty brand?
13.5 tog and is so cosy.

From the research I did Down is the way to go!

Are these hotel duvets/pillows/bedding very expensive?

Depends what you call expensive and if your willing to wait for bargains?
A wool filled duvet from the bargains/seconds section here www.baavet.co.uk/baavet-products/wool-duvet

Can be less than £100.
I linked earlier to king of cotton, they recently had spa towels on sale for £7 ,
And bedeck and king of cotton do lovely bedding if you wait for the sales, at about £40 a set

Feathers make a duvet heavy. A bird uses feathers to stay dry and down to keep warm.

'Feather and down' contains more feathers than a 'down and feather'. Pure down is the lightest and heaven to sleep under.

Ours is a Euroquilt duvet, made in the uk. We have a 4.5 and a 9 tog which popper together. But it's never been cold enough to use both together. They are warmer than synthetic duvets of the same tog value.

I am soooo following this thread!!!

Laquila · 10/10/2022 23:12

Soak&Sleep is good for this - I bought pillows from there after staying in a nice Airbnb that had them.

IrisVersicolor · 11/10/2022 15:13

Fine Bedding Company has the best duvets ime.

I can’t bear feathers personally.

londonmummy1966 · 11/10/2022 15:34

Mitre Linen is really good - good enough for the late Queen good.....

TugboatAnnie · 11/10/2022 15:58

I replaced all our duvets with the same as Center Parcs after looking at their labels and Mitre rings a bell.
