Dog poo on carpet

Someone had managed to track dog poo all up my carpeted stairs this morning. Properly trodden in. I've sprayed it with what we have, but it's not going to do the job I don't think.

I'm going to go to the shop after the school run. Any recommendations on what works to get it out?

Try to scrape as much out of the carpet as possible, with a spoon, rather than rubbing it in with a cloth. There are various products, particularly for pet stains, but I would certainly want to use one with that is biological with enzymes.

Wet vacuum. We have a Vax spot vacuum. Carpet cleaner chap said best to try just warm water first...and then call him for a professional job. The sooner the better. Don't use lots of chemicals as they then react with the professional chemicals.

Also call your home insurance. Some will pay for a professional carpet cleaner rather than have to pay for the whole carpet to be replaced
