how do you achieve this with taps etc?
mine always look awful what do you use and how do you use it

I always dry wipe after cleaning - if they still look grubby I use either Bar Keepers Friend or baby oil if it just needs to "shine up".

I wipe mine with a damp microfibre cloth.You must live in a hard water area - try Astonish Cookware and Oven Cleaner (it's a paste in a blue tub) - it's excellent.

Kilrock Limescale Remover spray if you’re in a hard water area, followed by a quick polish with a micro fibre cloth or even a flannel. Nice and shiny.
