Non mouldy bath mat recommendations

Hi, I can only find old threads which have out of date links. Can anyone recommend a bath mat which doesn't go mouldy or is super easy to clean? Sick of mould growing after 1 day then trying to get in the crevices of all the suckers with an old toothbrush to clean them 😂

I don't think I have ever had a mouldy bath mat. Do you mean a fabric one that you dry your feet in after the bath? I just hang them up to dry after use and wash them every week or two. Or do you mean a rubber one that goes in the bath?

greenacrylicpaint · 29/08/2022 15:40

which one do you mean? thd fabric one you stand on after getting out?

or the rubber one you use to not slip in the bath/shower?

both can go in the washer. if you wash them every month or so together with dc lunchbag they will keep well. plus hang them upside down ovee the side of the bath after use.

The rubber type one in the bath

I've never had one go mouldy. Could be the products you're using. Rinse it after each use or pop in washing machine with towels every now and then.

Just stick it to the wall to dry and wash it when you clean the bath/shower.
you probably have black mild in your pipes. Clean them and then keep them clean

You need to make sure it dries properly after use, if it stays damp, it will get mouldy quickly. I hang mine on the edge of the shower screen, being careful the suckers don't go near the screen or they will trap water.

Yes, I know what you mean. I now always hang mine over the bath rack immediately afterwards..
Bath rack sounds hopelessly retro I have just realised 😂

Take up to dry every time and Milton it every so often

KimWexlersPonyTail · 29/08/2022 16:11

You have to rinse it well and hang outside after each use if you have a lot of condensation in your bathroom.

You can wash the rubber ones in the washing machine, I do mine on 40 with a bit of white vinegar and it cleans off any mould

I turn ours sucker side up, lay it in the bath and spray with cilit bang black mold remover. Leave it and then just rinse it with shower before it is used again. That cilit bang stuff is amazing 🤩

I have a long rubber one for the bath for DS from Primark and it doesn't go mouldy. I also put it in the washing machine because there is no way I'm scrubbing it and it comes out like new every time!

handslikebirds · 31/08/2022 11:38

Thanks for all the tips, I'll definitely shove it in the washing machine.
