Bleach turned clothes pink?

Just put some cold water and bleach in the sink ready to stick some of DC's grubby white clothes on. Done this before with other stuff and always been fine.

The first item I've put in has pink patches?! What's happened?

I daren't add anything else...

This happened to me too and ruined my whites! Just bumping as I'm interested in what went wrong too

Bleach made some of my whites orange in areas. Maybe a reaction with products/chemicals used on the clothes?

Dont know for sure, but I yhink it may be suncream. Did this with my grandsons school shirts. If i remember right, it did dry white. Fingers crossed.

Do you mean an oxy based powder for whites?

What sort of fabric are the whites made from? Are they 100% cotton or do they contain Lycra?

Yes, it could be sun cream. I had this happen too so googled it and that’s what came up. Thankfully it did wash out in the end.
