Vinegar for limescale on taps

Hello,
Read somewhere that kitchen towel soaked in vinegar and wrapped around limescale on a tap gets rid of it. What sort of vinegar? White or malt (or, either)?

I use distilled (white) vinegar. It works really well.

Either one works fine.

Don't leave it on too long as it can discolour your taps.

Another tip, which I never believed until i tried it. Rub a 2p coin on the limescale. It simply scrapes off.

Yep - and for descaling kettle, saucepans, toilet etc. I use an old toothbrush around the taps.

Thanks all
