How to clean a weighted blanket?

Specifically a nuzzie brand one, it’s a loose heavy cable knit type structure. According to Google, they’re machine washable, but it seems to big bulky and heavy to cram in. Has anyone ever tried machine washing one? Or do I need to visit a laundromat with a giant drummed washing machine? Or is it a dry clean job?

thank you for any insight !

Does it not have a cover? And I absolutely would not put mine in the washing machine- they're full of tiny beads. Try a wash in the bath?

I washed mine in the bath (hot water and whatever you use in your washing machine) during the heatwave! (Christ it ruined my arms) I stood in the bath also and was standing on it with my feet! My partner then also had to help ring it out as it was soooo heavy! But thanks to the heatwave it dried outside in a few hours 🤣🤣

Could you steam clean it?

Most I've managed is hanging it on the line to air.

Dry cleaners

Thanks for the tips everyone! If it warms up again may try the bath-technique - if not dry cleaners it is.

I've just washed mine. The instructions say to hand wash only, no tumble drying etc, but b/c it's only a single one I was able to fold it down to fit into my utility sink, which is quite deep. After rinsing I left it to drain for ages, then hung it out on a very hot day. I was surprised how quickly it dried, as the first time I washed it, it took forever to dry, so definitely pick a hot day to do it.
