Napisan not working on orange puree food stain

Hi all! Just that really!

Got orange puree stains on my baby’s best dress. I soaked it in napisan over night. I rubbed the stain when I first put it in to soak, then again before putting in washing machine. It’s faded the stain but you can still see it.

Does anyone have any ideas? Have I done something wrong with the napisan? Have I washed the stain in for good now?

I’ve noticed this happen before with bibs, but never been an issue. But gutted as it’s her brand new party dress!

TIA

Vanish stain remover rubbed into the stain and left to sit for a while
Wash again and hang to dry with the stain in direct sunlight, even if you lay it on a sunny windowsill

Only process that shifts most stains for me

Direct sunlight.....

Wait for the next sunny day, wash again and put out to dry in the direct sun.

it’s like magic! It WILL disappear

I read your thread title and came to say what @CombatBarbie and @Workinghardeveryday have already said. I was sceptical the first time someone suggested it to me, but it really works.

Definitely direct sunlight. I've had a few stained babygrows recently that napisan didn't work on (and a few of my vest tops!)- I washed and dried them recently during the sunny days and the stains have all disappeared

Another vote for sunlight. Doesn't even need to be a very sunny day, just hang it outside or in a window....magic

With my son's cricket kit which gets really dirty and stained, I put Vanish spray on the worst bits, Vanish powder in the detergent drawer and when I can, I hang it outside.
Most of it comes out just fine (apart from one red mark from the ball that is there to stay Angry)
Hope the stain comes out

Thank you everyone that replied! So I did a second soak in Napisan, washed it again (stain still there after 2nd wash) and put to dry on the windowsill of a sunny room. The stains have disappeared 🙏

There really was some sort of magic at play here! I didn’t even need to put it outside, just on the windowsill.

I’ve got another quick question if anyone can help? If this happens again… do I need to bother with Napisan, or just wash the garment and put it straight in the sun? Or is the Napisan a necessary step in this sorcery?

TIA.

It will work without the napisan.

I find sunlight is a more powerful stain remover than napisan as long as you don't tumble dry the item before hanging it in the sun. If you do need an extra stain remover on top I find vanish works better than napisan.
