my kitchen floor looks horrible. the tiles are clean (mopped with bleach & standard pine floor cleaner)but the grout inbetween has turned from a light grey to a murky brown. i don't fancy gettin on my hands and knees every night scrubbing the grout inbetween. anybody got any tips?

Kim & Aggie say scrub with bleach, then seal with masonary sealant. I've been meaning to try it, but somehow haven't got round to it

Give them a good scrub with some bleach - I find using a washing up brush or scrubbing brush the best. A toothbrush is ideal though. You probably won't have to do it that often to keep it looking nice and clean. Mopping isn't really going to help with the grout.

i do mine with bicarbonate of soda. buy a big bag and sprinkle a good amount on the grout, use a damp cloth to moisten it, leave a minute or two and rub it away with the cloth. it does take a bit of time but minimal effort in terms of rubbing with great results. maybe the sealant idea would help too once is all clean. saw it in anthea's programme and tried it myself.

The sealant is very good. I put it on my kitchen and bathroom floor tile grout and they have stayed new and pristine looking. cannot remember what it was called but you applied it with a sort of mini turkey baster and nobody was allowed to step on it for about an hour.
