With beer/wine included probably about £130-£150 a week, there are 4 of us.

dooley1 · 20/01/2008 14:26

about £75 a week for 2 adults and 2 kids.
Often have to buy milk etc in the week too though

BananaPudding · 20/01/2008 14:27

Right now is about 150 per week for 3 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 six year old.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 20/01/2008 14:27

Three here, we budget £120 rarely hit it, but when we do it is a case of thats ok, it is in the plan. IYKWIM

Yesterday I spent £35 at the butchers.

One small leg of lamb, two smallish sirloin steaks, two slices of calves liver.

at how little we got for it

Blandmum · 20/01/2008 14:27

Since I have started shopping on line, with Sainburys I would say that the bill for the 4 of us is around £70 a week.

We probably buy and extra £15 on stuff we have run out of etc in the week on top.

This would be less but since Dh started to get better , he is eating like a horse! So there are lots of cakes and biscuits etc on the list. I don't need to make lunches for the kids, as they have a hot meet in school

dooley1 · 20/01/2008 14:29

yes my figure doesn't factor in the £10 I spend on lunches at work (very naughty cos don't make my own), and the 2 dcs eat at nursery all day twice a week

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 20/01/2008 14:29

A hot meet in school, what a free thinking school your children attend MB.

What are their stats of teenage pregnancies.

Blandmum · 20/01/2008 14:35

LOL sorry about that!

This week will be eating (with veggies or salad)
Chicken roast
Chicken pie
Beef cobbler
Sausage caserole
Pasta with sauce
Take away on Friday
Home made pizza

0SlightlyMadShrek · 20/01/2008 14:36

There are 5 of us.

We probably spend
£70-£100 on an online shop
£30 on fesh bread/milk veges between shops
£20 in butchers

So I make that £120-150 per week?

kittywise · 20/01/2008 14:36

We are 2 adults and 6 children, I reckon about £220 per week, keeps going up and up though!

pankhurst · 20/01/2008 14:45

i've been shopping thru 'mysupermarket.co.uk' over teh last few weeks and it's really good - they do price checking and calorie checking.

even with delivery, i spend less than i would if i went to the shop itself.

however, actual spend varies a lot as some weeks it includes shampoos etc and some weeks i focus on filling up freezer....

BUT
what's the lowest you reckon you could get it down to??? anyone want to have an experiment where we only spend a set amount per person in the family?? like they do on that coldturkey budget programme?

LadyOfWaffle · 20/01/2008 14:51

about £70 a week, then about £30-40 everytime DH goes to buy a loaf of bread about 2-3 times a week. No idea how, it just creeps up. We are still buying nappies, wipes and milk though that accounts for abit.

Peachy · 20/01/2008 14:55

5 of us, and a cat. DS1 and ds3 on special diets which probably adds £15 to the budget, and ds3 in nappies so wipes / nappies included and will be for a long time yet.

Approx. £80 if we also get a veg box, if we don't about £90 p/w
