Can anyone recommend any cordless vacuums please?
Steering towards the shark but would love to hear personal experiences!

We have a cordless Shark and a Dyson V8 here (two households worth of stuff combined to one when we moved in together). The suction on the Dyson is a million times better. I'd say get a Dyson over the Shark any day

I have a Dyson v10 it’s fantastic. Had it a couple of years now.

We have a Shark and a Dyson, Shark hands down. The Dyson just doesn't perform very well at all .

Sorry to jump in ladies - I have the Dyson V7 and looooove it for my carpets, does a brilliant job and still going strong after 5 years but the downstairs of my house is wooden floors and the suction on wood is awful. I need to use the hand held nozzle and go on all fours 🤣 Do you have the attachment for hard wood flooring? I see it can be bought but I was in two minds whether to buy that for £60 or get a new hoover all together!!

Also James Dyson encouraged people to vote Brexit 😡

I have tried several dyson models and all have been crap - lasted about a year and then died. Recommend a shark every time but go for the corded one for longivity and power. Mine has a lift off feature where you can lift the body from the upright which is brilliant for stairs and the car. The anti hair wrap technology is a godsend too

I have the Dyson V8. When it broke I couldn't afford another so I bought a John Lewis own brand cordless hoover, it was about £100. I prefer it to the Dyson and wouldn't waste so much money on the brand name again.

A lot of mixed opinions and recommendations, thank you all!
Those that have the shark, can I ask what models you have please?

I have the NZ801UKT currently £235 on Amazon and worth every penny

Shark is better than Dyson.

Roselilly36 · 05/08/2022 06:08

Shark cordless duo clean pet with anti hair wrap is awesome, the best cordless vacuum cleaner I have had, and I have owned a few! Love that it’s easy to store, came with lots of attachments. Very pleased with it. I was so fed up of having to keep cutting my hair out of the brush bar of my Gtech air ram, and I was very skeptical if the Shark would live up to the claims of anti hair wrap, but if honestly does. I would buy another Shark and recommend.

We have a Dyson Fluffy as our downstairs is all hard floors. We have a carpet attachment.

I've got the same as Roselilly and I waver between thinking it's good and wanting to go back to my at least 11 year old corded Miele cylinder cleaner which was still working when I bought the Shark, and is now sitting in the garage.
I can't help feeling that if this had a proper service it would be as good if not better than than the Shark.
My reason to moving to a cordless vacuum was mainly the stairs but in reality it's no easier to vacuum them with the Shark than it was with my cylinder cleaner that has a really long cord and balanced nicely on each stair.
Perhaps I'm a bit of a weed but I find the Shark quite heavy
