Any cordless vacuum recommendations?

Looking to buy a cordless vacuum for the house. Needs to be powerful as we have a pet who sheds - any recommendations?

The dyson isn't working and smells like something died inside so it needs replacing.

I've had a non cordless dyson before and it was OK but just too clunky to lug around. I was looking at the Dyson v15 cordless but it seems so expensive for a vacuum and I don't really what to spend that much

Ihave a Dyson ,ideal for me with lots of stairs,battery charge lasts about 25 minutes which is enough for me .The charger is in a cupboard ,tools in a bag and wand also in cupboard.I believe they have a model for animal hair.I find it very handy just to grab and pick up bits.Dyson Absolute is the model.of mine.
