Yesterday I noticed a weird smell in DS room - at first thought it was just teen boy BO - but he hasn't been around for a few days. It was bothering me so I tried to find the source. Finally tracked it to his mattress!
It's an IKEA foam mattress, about 5 years old but not used all the time.
The strangest smell - definitely not BO. Back of the throat acrid. More like the foam is off-gassing in the heat.
Never noticed it before and DS has never complained of strange smells.
Is this possible? Has anyone experienced the same thing?
What should i do - replace the mattress?
