Waterproof mattress protectors - when you do remove them?

our beds all have Brolly Sheets. But as I lay sweltering last night it occurred to me. My kids are all quite big now - do we really need them on the beds anymore? They really do make the beds hotter during these summer months.

I removed the one from DD12s bed ages ago as it was 'so embarrassing'. My son (10) still wets the bed now and again, so it'll be staying on his for now.

But my 6 year old has been potty trained for over 3 years and never wets the bed. She has also stopped coming in our bed. So I should probably take them off!

Do you still keep waterproof sheets on your kids beds?

DD is 20 and still has one as she suffers horrendous flooding for which she took medication)

We never had them at all, we used those stick on pad things when the kids were potty training, they sound so uncomfortable!

I still have them on everyone's bed to stop sweat soaking into the mattress and because I have irregular periods.

We have a padded one on top and the children have waterproof terry toweling. Not uncomfortable at all. You know you put a sheet on top?!

I think we’ll keep ours on, even though children are getting older. There’s sometimes a drink spill etc.

We have waterproof mattress protectors on all the beds in case anyone drops a cup of tea or I leak through my period protection. We also have mattress toppers on top of them which can be easily washed unlike a mattress and at this time of year we have cooling mattress pads from Ikea to keep us cool.

I have M&S cotton mattress protectors. I double them up and they deal well with any leaks. There's no way I'd have the plastic ones on a bed of someone who isn't incontinent, especially in the heat we've had. (And not even on an incontinent persons bed in the summer, I'd just layer up with cotton protectors and cot/puppy pads.

Yes see I have the Brolly sheet on the mattress, then a mattress protector on top of that. On my bed I have two mattress protectors! Enough to absorb sweat.
