Smeg Fridge Freezer went pop! Is it safe to continue using?

I am hoping you might be able to help me. This evening I heard a popping sound - I had a look around and found that the fridge freezer wasn't working. I had just taken some salad out of the fridge so it must have only just happened. The light wasn't on so I checked the fuse box and it had blown - flipped the fuse back into place and its working again (light back on humming away).

However I'm scared now. I assume something must be faulty - is it safe to leave it on? Should I get an electrician out to fix it or do I need to buy a new one? It was from John Lewis about three years ago so no longer under guarantee . I'm sorry if I sound hopeless but I really don't have a clue and don't want to do anything dangerous. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you

It’s fine.

If it happens again I’d look at getting a new one, but as a one off it’s fine.
