My fixed rate tariff ends 31st this month, had a quote , rang up and accepted , not really the problem as we all know they're going up.
I accepted the quote on 5th July and yesterday I saw my smart meter was already stating the new daily rate and new price per kwh. Rang them thinking it was an error .
C/S advisor said it was correct as the new tariff starts from the date you ring up and accept.
Well, they could have told me at the time as I'd have said I'd ring them towards the end of the month instead. I presumed it would start when the old one ended.
