Best bedroom storage - thinking MFI Vs Ikea?

We might get fitted wardrobes and stuff in our bedroom. Does anyone have them - can recommend a good quality, cheap place.

Saw some great ones on a recent trip to Ikea. I do wonder if there might be too much choice there though!

MFI have terrible customer service, will never use them again.

I like MFI myself.

we had MFI bedroom furniture when we first got married, and outgrew it last year so had a whole new fitted set.the old stuff was passed on as it was still in good condition, just not big enough anymore, and we had it for 13yrs, so good going for strength etc.

kitchen is also from MFI.

have to say tho, we have no Ikea nearby, so can't really compare, but I like MFI, and would buy again from them.......BUT.....DH very hands on and made it up and fitted himself, so have had no experience with their fitters etc.

Another vote for ikea (we had MFI kitchen, put me off them for life)

We have had ikea PAX wardrobes for years, the oldest ones we have are about 8 years old and we have collapsed and reassembled them 3 times with different house moves.

Due to changing needs over the years we have changed the interior fittings over and over, moved shelves up and down, we use those plastic tubs for drawers, hanging rails, fabric storage boxes, etc so they are robost and we our children have regularly swung on the doors and no damage yet. We don't have any chest of drawers in our house, every wardrobe is Pax. You can over-fill a drawer in a wardrobe but not in a chest of drawers as you can't close them.

Several people who have seen how I organise the interior of my wardrobes have gone on to buy them!!! Oh, and I am a slattern

And if you damaged a door or the frame, you can just go and buy a door or the frame without having to buy the whole thing! MFI would probably charge you an arm and a leg!

you made a good sales pitch there fizzy !

My only concern with the pax system is that there is too much choice and I would end up buying loads of bits that would actuall be totally useless to me!

I will have to have a good long think about our exact requirements before going and getting carried away with all the extras you can get!

Thanks all!

Try looking at some of the smaller retailers ... we saw what we wanted, phoned them and managed to negotiate a really good deal www.roomstogo.org.uk
