Feeling down about house work.

I've been enjoying using TOMM and the Boot camp to give me motivation and I like having lists to tick off.

My issue is that I still seem to be getting nowhere fast. For example when I'm cleaning the windows etc in TOMM bootcamp I notice that the bits inside are black then I try to clean that for ages and struggle to get it looking perfect about an hour later.

No judgement please as I know I've been slack for various reasons (I've not just been sitting about!!) but I really don't know how to get my house looking really clean and fresh. I've taken months to declutter which has been a big achievement for me actually so now wanting to tackle the housework.

Are you being realistic about the standards you can achieve in the house you have? To take your window example,
I live in an old house, the best my windows ever look, even straight after being painted, is 'fine'.

Also, if you've spent an hour cleaning a window frame, they are clean and fresh! Use TOMM etc. as a guide for what to do, not a stick to beat yourself with.

I think you might have a point. One of my friend's has children the same as me and her house is always spotless and she still has time to craft and bake etc 🙈 I'm always comparing. She's got a big new build she moved into last year and I've been in my 80s house for 7 years.
