FarcicalAlienQueen · 15/01/2008 19:35

hehe nappy - is this in my honour

Change the bedclothes? - in the past.....whenever I remember (ie not very often) - now I'm trying to do them every 2/3 weeks
Wash the towels? - probably about once a week
Hoover,
upstairs? - rarely - maybe 3/4 times a year (again something I aim to improve on this year....)
downstairs? generaly 3/4 times a week
the stairs? - same as upstairs
Clean the loo? - never.........DH does it
Mop the floor? - ermm, well, errrr,......rarely
Dust each room? - downstairs - probably 2/3 times a month
Clean the bathroom (wipe tiles, clean bath, sink etc) - bath (every other day) and sink (daily) tiles - not often - there's too many of them, they're too high and it takes too long to try and reach them all.
Clean the kitchen? (wipe tiles, clean oven, microwave, wipe cupboards etc) - tiles, microwave and oven - as needed, cupboards......probably about the same frequency as the mopping

sarahtibs · 15/01/2008 19:47

Change the bedclothes? - as needed, sheets every 2-3 days, duvet and pillow cases less often

Wash the towels? - every use

Hoover,
upstairs? - only had carpet fitted upstairs 2 days ago so not been done yet. Upstairs isn't used so far

downstairs? - about 3-4 times a day

the stairs? - as upstairs

Clean the loo? - every day

Mop the floor? - once a week

Dust each room? - rarely. I clean the television and stand every day though

Clean the bathroom (wipe tiles, clean bath, sink etc) - daily

Clean the kitchen? (wipe tiles, clean oven, microwave, wipe cupboards etc) - rarely, almost never

sarahtibs · 15/01/2008 19:49

Just wanted to clarify that I do wipe down all kitchen sides with hot, soapy water and bleach the sink twice a day. I just don't clean cupboards, ovens etc very often

FarcicalAlienQueen · 15/01/2008 19:51

you hoover 3/4 times a day!!!!

Lizzylou · 15/01/2008 19:52

Change the bedclothes? Once a week
Wash the towels? Once a week
Hoover,
upstairs? Once a week
downstairs? Every day (sometimes twice if needed)
the stairs? Once a week
Clean the loo? Downstairs every day, others twice a week
Mop the floor? I don't, I use floor wipes every night (but wipe up certain areas all through the day)
Dust each room? Once a week upstairs/ Every 2 days downstairs
Clean the bathroom (wipe tiles, clean bath, sink etc) Twice a week
Clean the kitchen? (wipe tiles, clean oven, microwave, wipe cupboards etc) All thr fecking time, it feels like!

I am not a natural housewife, just do the bare minimum but get annoyed with mess and dirt (I so need a daily homehelp!).

sarahtibs · 15/01/2008 19:55

I have to hoover that often FarcialAlienQueen. I do it once before school, again after snacks and lunch and again before husband gets in from work. We have laminate floor and it shows every single dropped crumb. With four children we get plenty of stuff dropped on teh floor even though they can only eat at the table/in highchair

Hulababy · 15/01/2008 19:56

Change the bedclothes? I try for every fortnight

Wash the towels? Couple of times a week

Hoover,

  • upstairs/downstairs/stairs? - we have three floors and I do it all at the same time - 1 or 2 times a week min, and then individual rooms as required

Clean the loo? Couple of times a week

Mop the floor? I don't mop, I prefer to get on hands and knees isntead. Do bathrooms and kitchen 1-2 times a week; kitchen might get an exta wipe as and when required also

Dust each room? As and when; I don't have much to dust

Clean the bathroom (wipe tiles, clean bath, sink etc) - once a week; sink more often as give it a wipe when requred (such as after DD is cleaned her teeth; toilet more often if required

Clean the kitchen? (wipe tiles, clean oven, microwave, wipe cupboards etc) - 1 to 2 times a week plus as reuired. Normally hob and work surfaces after each meal from prep time; I clean the oven properly about once a month.

FarcicalAlienQueen · 15/01/2008 19:57

our carpet shows every crumb....and I have a (nearly crawling) 7 month old.....but I just wait until the end of the day to hoover....saves a lot of time and effort as I KNOW that if I hoover after breakfast then it'll need doing again by lunchtime etc etc.

Slouchy · 15/01/2008 20:00

Yaddayah · 15/01/2008 20:00

Everything done once a week apart from cleaning the loo (every other day)

sarahtibs · 15/01/2008 20:00

I guess I just can't function if the floors look grubby. Or if anything looks grubby actually. Like Lizzylou I'm not a natural housewife, but I can only operate if everything is clean and tidy. I have the same routines every day which means my house always looks presentable and clean, but the 'deeper' jobs, ie oven, never get done.

BitTiredNow · 15/01/2008 20:02

Change the bedclothes? - once per week

Wash the towels? - once per week for the children, but clean towel daily for baby.

Hoover,
upstairs? - twice per week

downstairs? - every day, at least once (I have very messy children - mud, food etc etc)

the stairs? twice per week

Clean the loo? - every day (I have boys)

Mop the floor? - every day, twice a day (weaning)

Dust each room? - once a week - dust doesn't bother me as much as dirty carpets

Clean the bathroom (wipe tiles, clean bath, sink etc) - twice per week

Clean the kitchen? (wipe tiles, clean oven, microwave, wipe cupboards etc) - all apart from the oven, every day. (weaning again - it goes EVERYWHERE

GColdtimer · 15/01/2008 20:03

sarahtibs, you bleach the sink twice a day?? And sheets every 2-3 days?? Your house sounds absolutely spotless. Will you come and do mine

GColdtimer · 15/01/2008 20:05

Dust each room? every other day

sarahtibs · 15/01/2008 20:05

lol, it's far from spotless. I do sheets that often because with laminate flooring any crumbs or bits on the floor stick to feet then get transferred to my bed when I get in it. I hate bits in my bed!
And teh sink thing comes from when I very briefly trued the Flylady thing. A shiny sink makes teh whole kitchen look better, and it's true

nappyaddict · 15/01/2008 20:07

slouchy - hmmm i can't get my head around this name you are definitely more of a sassy lady than a slouchy one! have been looking out for you. someone said you'd changed but they couldn't remember what to!! i'm in the mids atm so we shall all have to arrange to meet up now i've found you again lol.
