Smelly tea towel drawer

My tea towel drawer and the cupboard beneath (where I keep bin rolls, kitchen rolls, new sponges and dusters) really pong and I can't get rid of the smell!
It's like one of those cheap very unpleasant smelling furniture polish, I suspect that someone ie DP used a tea towel/cloth to clean something and put it on the cupboard dirty and the smell has transferred somehow.
I've pulled everything out and tried cleaning the cupboard and drawer with soda crystals, bleach, zoflora, washing up liquid, soap powder, dishwasher tablet and white vinegar.
Currently trying unstoppables under lining powder.
All my tea towels stink, they wash and dry and smell fine, but if I put them in the drawer they come out smelly!
I've binned the offending polish.
Any ideas please?

Does the drawer itself pull out? If so I'd try pulling it off it's rollers and popping it outside in the fresh air and leave it out there as long as you can (subject to rain). One other thing you could try is a pot of bicarb inside the drawer and cupboard to try to neutralise the smell? Has the polish itself leaked at all? Might be worth wiping down your cupboard contents to see if that helps? Good luck!

Thanks, think I'll end up painting the drawer and cupboard.
