range cooker a total liability with small kids in house? your help please

Am considering a range cooker in new open plan kitchen/diner/family room

a range cooker would be good - but upon first investigation it looks like they're a no-no as kids have open and ready access to the controls...in fact they'd probably be really keen on trying to master the huge array of readily available attractive knobs and buttons

J-L assistant couldn't enlighten me, so dear mn'ers....

We have a range cooker and have had one occasion of burnt sauseages but other than that she has shown some but not huge interest in it and can't remember the last time she played with it and to be honest she only show interest when we are using it, never if we are not. She now has her own cooker and far more interested in that. She is nearly 2 by the way

No and we have an aga as well but turn it off in summer, hence range cooker)

Are you thinking of a range style cooker, or an actual range. Will it do your hot water and heating as well, so you're concerned about whether they will burn themselves?

We have a range which does it all, and dd has fiddled with the knobs occasionally so that I've had no hot water in the morning, but generally she leaves it alone. She is 23 months.
