Cordless vacuum

I'm looking for cordless vacuum recommendations. Much as I'd love a robovac, a cordless stick vacuum is what we need. We have a three story house, lots of hard floors, carpeted stairs, two children and a cat. Currently we're running two old Dysons into the ground. I don't want another Dyson.
I'm torn between a Shark and a Gtech- which would you go for?

I've got a Shark and I'm very happy with it.

We are happy with cordless G Tech, but we only use it upstairs, we have a dog and it is good for picking up dog hair, we have a corded Shark Liftaway for downstairs.

I can’t help with the vacuum (I only have corded ones) but if you have lots of hard floors I can recommend one of those ‘wide squeegee on a long handle’ type things. Absolute magic for very quickly sweeping hard floors.
