Placemats ?

Bit of a boring question but can anyone recommend good placemats? Fed up with using cork ones where the top layer peels off (have tried both cheap and expensive, current ones are from Next), tried ribbed jute type ones. All get stained (bolognese, chilli, curry main culprits) and it's a pain not being able to soak them. Don't like the look of vinyl, so considering fabric but that means lots of washing which is not ideal either. Any ideas, suggestions or tips will be gratefully received!

I have some wooden ones from B&M that have lasted much better than I expected. I bought 2 sets thinking they'd peel or split quickly but they haven't. I don't tend to soak them, though, just wipe over and occasionally antibac spray them.
Slate ones are hard wearing, too, but heavy.

I have some smoked cork ones that are nice and thick and look beautiful. I bought them from RNLI.

We have slate ones, can easily be washed or thrown in the dishwasher even!

then cloth ones etc for dinner parties when there aren’t any children at the table
