ive always used gas for central heating but have been offered a property to rent from local council which has electric heating so wondered if it was more expensive and if so how much compared to gas

Yes electricity is more expensive than gas. Not sure how much more it will cost

Had electric heating twice - horrendously expensive both times. Night storage heaters were also really inefficient too. We bought the house knowing we'd put in gas central heating as soon as we could.

My daughter rented a house with electric heating - again really expensive, but it was effective. If it'a brand new heating system, maybe cheaper to run than an old system, but I'd avoid night storage heaters all together.

Expensive! I don't like the heat either...the air gets very dry and makes me feel sick. Might be newer radiators now...don't know.

So expensive, I know someone with electric heating, their electric bill is around £400 a month at the moment.
