Cleaner - first time

Hey everyone

We are going to get a cleaner, never had one before, just wondered what types of questions I need to ask? And am I supposed to check anything beforehand? And what people usually charge approximately? And what it all entails? And if anyone can recommend anyone for the Telford / Shrewsbury area, even better !

Thank you 🙏

It depends where you live and why you want a cleaner. What does she have to do? Day to day stuff or a full house deep cleaning?

If you're using an agency then they do the reference checks ( or they should!) . If not it's important to either use someone recommended by a friend or acquaintance and do take up their references.

We have had cleaners for years. The deep cleaning is good BUT in my experience you need to be there to help move the furniture, to say what you need done etc. it's a good idea to get to know the person too first.

Sorry I can't recommend anyone I'm too far away! Maybe write down some things that you want to say to them so you don't forget on the day you interview them!

We used an agency recommend by neighbour.
First time they came did a deep clean. Note get them each week. Never ask/tell them what to do think they have a system as not always same person but they do same stuff I think.
Make beds, Hoover floors, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen surfaces, sink ect.
Mop floors most weeks sometimes clean inside Windows. Place always looks nice after I find it easy easier to manage during week still plenty to do but easier to know what to do. Usually get to tidy away stuff more clothes, toys ect as want things bit tidy for when they arrive otherwise they put stuff in a bag in each room that takes me while to sort out.
