Heated airer and towels

I'm trying to reduce energy costs and can live without tumbling most things except towels.

I like my towels soft not scratchy.

If I buy a heated airer (I've got a gift voucher) will they be soft or will they be scratchy like line dried ones?

They will be scratchy for sure.
I had a heated airer and gave it away as it made the clothes crunchy and harder to iron 🤷‍♀️

I bought a heater airer as I thought it would make life easier as I don't have a tumble dryer. I have been hugely disappointed with it. You have to lay items flat on it for them to dry properly, which means you can only put a few things on it at a time. Then cover the whole unit with a large sheet or their own cover to help dry the clothes.

Mine now just props the wall up as I have given up using it. I'll look into selling it at some point.

it's the movement of the tumble that adds the softness.
