Oven glass door cleaner recommendations

Hi all, could anyone recommend a good product to clean a filthy glass oven door - with years of caked on fat and food splashed / spills? I’ve scrubbed it and tried lemon juice and soda and while I am no longer worried about the family getting sick from it, it is still completely caked in brown / black solid gunk. I used oven pride on the racks and floor and walls which worked ok ish but it says not to use on glass doors. Oh the joy of renting.

I've been using dishwasher tablets, my 10 yr old was watching a tiktok and she recommended it. It has worked wonders on the glass door and on the grease inside the oven. I use soda crystals on the wire racks after they've been soaked in hot water and washing up liquid for 20 mins. They come up gleaming.

Dishwasher tablets have never worked for me.

Elbow grease spray is good though; might take a couple of goes.

Dishwasher tablets/granules work for me. My glass door comes up gleaming!

Get a glass scraper from screwfix, cover with cif let it dry then scrape the gunk off. it's really easy and only costs a couple of pounds.

I did it with a dishwasher tab a few months back. It was an ecover zero one so wasn't sure it would work. It was amazing. Came off really quickly and was spotless after having not been cleaned for a very long time!

Pink stuff, the paste, is also good. I gound it easier than dishwasher tablets.

I use a hob scraper on my oven door, gets everything off in a couple of minutes and I don't use any other cleaners. Might have to try a dishwasher tablet now everyone else has mentioned that.

I will have a further try with dishwasher tablets this evening, thank you everyone, and will get that spray too. I think it will take a few goes but I am going to keep at it. Thanks everyone.

Watch on YouTube Aurikatariina - How To Clean Your Oven Like A Professional.

She's great!

CIF and tinfoil!

The pink stuff paste or astonish over cleaner paste (it’s in a blue rectangular tub). Both are cheap as chips, but applied with a scrubbing sponge and left for a bit then wiped off (possibly needs repeating for very tough bits) left my oven glass sparkling!

I loved these coz they weren’t giving off horrible fumes like oven pride etc but got the job done!

TheLadyDIdGood · 29/03/2022 04:11

Try wiping off as much as you can when the oven is cooling after use. I get loads of gunk off when my oven is warm because it's soft and easier to clean and scrape off.

If you’re not bothered about chemicals then the mr muscle oven spray is amazing. It’s in an orange spray can. It bloody stinks and you have to have all the windows open but it’s like a new oven afterwards.
