Removing Chewing gum residue on black school trousers - help!

Hi

DS sat on chewing gum kindly left on a chair by a fellow student. He got most of it off but it has left a white reside/mark on the backside of his black M&S school trousers.

He “forgot” to tell me and popped them in the wash and I only realised when I went to hang them up to dry. Tried stain remover and re-wash with no luck. Then Vanish - I know wasn’t convinced this would work and it didn’t.

Is there anything I could use to remove it or will he just have to wear them for the next 5 weeks till exam start! He does have another pair so not the end of the world.

Thanks

De-solvit spray gets sticky residue off most things

Sticky stuff remover is good. Lakeland sell it among other places. Isn’t the old advice to stick the clothing in the freezer and then peel it off when frozen?
Might be too late for that though!

Rubbing alcohol also works.

Putting them in the freezer also works

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Think it may be too late for the freezer, but worth a try if that fails then will try other suggestions. Cheers
