Dishwasher saying ‘communication wrror’

Bosch want £109 to send an engineer to look at it. It’s 5 yrs old so nothing under warranty.
Local reputable engineer suggested this error usually means main part blown and in his opinion not to repair as expensive and can be troublesome.

Does anyone have any experience of this error message please?

I turned it off at the mains and back on again so now it’s all in German but I’m pretty sure “Keine kommunikation” means the same thing Smile

Sorry I have no idea but what I generally do in these instances is look at how much a new machine would cost. If a new one would cost £500, then divide by an average of 5 years lifespan which would equal £100 which is the cost of callout alone. You would have to add parts and labour on top.

So, how much do you love this machine? Is there another local repairman who can give a rough estimate?

Thanks for posting pixiedust.
I’ll
Try and find another repair person tomorrow for a second opinion.

Did you check your manual for any troubleshooting steps?

Quick google (without knowing your actual model) suggests it's a problem with communication between the electronics inside the machine which will likely mean part replacement. Sounds potentially expensive!

Yes, that’s what it suggested in the booklet. Unfortunately.
We’ve bitten the bullet and ordered a new one.
