Cod - I have Karndean in my downstairs loo and do it with neat bleach and then rinse off. The flooring is OK - a bit less shiny but fine.

Bloody men - how come two of mine have a good eye when it comes to golf or footie but can't piss in a pot?

I use vinegar cleaner.

Cod - I grew up with 3 brothers. I think it is just a fact that the loo will smell of wee if you have a lot of boys! I remember the smell throught my WHOLE life, it never ever went, even when they grew up!!!

Buy cheap pedestal mats and throw them away on a regular basis.
I wipe all around with the kandoo wipes most days.
HAve silicone sealed the botton of the loo to the floor so no gaps for pee to seeep in to!

I hesitate to use the word, but I am pretty sure i heard it hear first - piss-catchers ie what doublebluff said - cheap mats (asda v.cheap) , wash frequently and replace as necessary.
I once bought a house and had to replace the chopboard flooring in the bathroom because it was sodden.

It was a bit hard to identify, being so soggy!

Someone should make pisscatchers (pedestal mats) embroidered with "I only bought this because you piss on the floor".

is the way I catch my boys having 'hosepipe' fights or trying to reach the loo from the bath!

Oh god. The smell. I shared a flat at university with 4 men. There was a tiny loo. Bathroom next door. I well remember never ever ever going barefoot into the loo. Was bleuurgh.

No idea on how to get smells out, we have tiled floors so easily cleaned....

BUT

I did have an issue however with them peeing everywhere (ie, floor, walls and not even lifting the seat so puddles there for whenever I parked my bum)......so handed them some flash spray and plenty of cloths and set them to work!!!

two weeks later, they started aiming properly (DH was included in this BTW), and we not looked back.

SIL has used same tactics on her boys with similar results......

damn sure that if men have to clean, they take more care not to mess it in the first place!

Hope the bleach is still working and the smell is not coming through again.

I did at one point put kitchen roll all round the toilet every day so that the boys could see when they peed on the floor. It helped me justify a rant and also I think they just didn't realise what they were doing.

It helped their aim.....for a while.

Put a ping pong ball in the loo and get them to aim at it. Doesn't flush (apparently).
