Boring question about dishwasher installation

Paid a fortune for a good dishwasher from John Lewis. It was installed today, whilst my husband was home. The installers ran it. My husband asked no questions to the installers and did not look at the manual.
Is it safe to assume that the installers put in the initial salt & rinse aid, and did the settings for water hardness and all that initial stuff?

If I put salt and rinse aid in now, and it turns out they'd already done it, would I harm it, by doubling up?

I'm worried i'm going to break my shiny new toy at the first use!

I doubt they put rinse aid or salt in unless it was provided for them. If you take the lid off the salt compartment you will be able to see if its full. Same with the rinse aid compartment - you'll be able to see if there's some in there

Whoever I’ve had an appliance installed they’ve done the bare minimum, so literally just installed it. I would assume they’ve plugged it in, connected to water, made sure it’s level and works.

There are reservoirs for salt/rinse aid so if they’re already full then you’ll soon tell as it will overflow. I’d do everything in the manual beyond the plugging it in stage.

OK. Both appear to be empty, so thank you. I'll get on with it.
A moment of adulthood, becoming responsible for dishwasher maintenance!
