What is reasonable for 2 hours with a cleaner

We're moving soon so i'm looking to get a cleaner but i don't want to set unrealistic expectations or short change them!
Ideally we'd get 3 hours once a week but i'm not sure if i'm asking too much
I'd like them to
Wipe counters & Appliances
Vaccuum Carpets upstairs (and stairs)
Mop downstairs floors
Change bedding (1-2 beds)
Clean bathrooms (1 toilet and 3 bathrooms)
Dust & Polish
Wipe out the sink

It's a 5 bed, 3 bath house with 2 living rooms (for reference on the amount of hoovering and mopping)

Should i be cutting back on the jobs or is there anything on there its unreasonable for a cleaner to do?

That seems quite a lot for two hours to be honest. Either go for three or drop a couple of jobs - bed changing and wiping kitchen down.
You presumably wipe the worktops down after each time you prepare food so they should always be clean. And do your appliances (WM I assume) need cleaning each week?

Ours does all that except change beds in 2 hours, in a 3 bed house. So if it's 3 hours your planning that sounds OK. Mine got quicker once she got to know the house too (she's brilliant and such a blessing).

I'm a cleaner and couldn't manage that in 2 hours. Especially 3 bathrooms and changing beds.

Why not do the beds and baths in rotation? 2 beds / baths on week 1 and 1 bath / remaining beds week 2. Then you or dh can do the baths that aren’t done each week yourselves, whilst the beds only get changed fortnightly.
I’d rather have the kitchen thoroughly cleaned every week, and the floors mopped weekly too.

Way too much!! How long would it take you?

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 12/03/2022 21:19

Too much. More time or fewer jobs.

TillyTopper · 12/03/2022 21:23

I think that's too much. We have 4 beds and 3 bathrooms + loo + kitchen + dining/living area. I keep the house super tidy so they can get round quickly and I always prepare for them (tidy/get all the bedding out etc). I have 2 cleaners for about 2.5 -3 hours per week. So that 5-6 hours a week.

That’s more like 4 hours work tbh: I d hired cleaners & also cleaned my own and various family houses when people are ill etc

It takes me 3 hours to do a 2 bed 2 bath house for context
