Miele - buy direct or from John Lewis?

Really boring question I know but what's the difference if I buy direct to from the company or buy through John Lewis? I know John Lewis has a really good reputation . Exactly the same price including installation etc - John Lewis repaired my now knackered John Lewis washing machine free of charge last year when it was seven years old so I was impressed with that (was out of warranty etc) but I want a Miele washing machine now and my old jl one has finally died,

We bought a dishwasher from John Lewis which underperformed from day 1 - although we complained they just kept sending a man round with an iPad to run diagnostics. Apparently it said everything was perfect -washing and drying, despite us having to re wash loads of stuff. Customer service was appalling and I think the days of their good reputation have gone.
I would only buy from JL if there was extended warranty or other perk.

John Lewis customer service was outsourced in October 2020, it’s awful now. No phone numbers, can’t get through to anyone in a shop, and can’t speak to anyone who isn’t in their outsourced offices who give robotic odd sounding replies. Infuriating haven’t ordered from them since 2021 January - tried a couple of times, got weird products, not worth the effort

I agree with the previous comments. Bought an expensive appliance from John Lewis, problems from day 1. They referred me back to the manufacturer of that item. You will not be dealing with John Lewis Customer Service but with Miele should something go wrong. Might as well buy directly from Miele.

Always found ao.com brilliant. Lots of choice too.

MIL bought a fridge from JL and it kept leaking. She contacted JL who were helpful and repaired it (after a few calls!)

Oh yeah we get our stuff from ao, really helpful. Avoid Curry’s too, they have their customer service separately from sales, “team know how”, item was damaged by delivery people and I went around the houses on it. Absolutely infuriating for us as they insisted on manufacturer coming round to check for fault and so on when they should have just taken it back.
