How clean is your house before your cleaner comes?

For example, say the cleaner was coming in the morning, would you clean the hob after dinner the night before?

Obviously I try and make it as clutter free as possible to make it easier to clean and I'd never leave a dirty toilet, but should I be doing more?

Clutter free, yes, but we are tidy anyway.

I don’t clean the hob since cleaner cleans it weekly- just wipe up any big spills.

We don’t hoover or mop but do make sure the bathroom isn’t gross!

On the day she is coming, the house will be clutter free and no skid marks in the loo, everything else is for the cleaner.

Same - I tidy up as much as possible so our cleaner can clean properly, but don't bother wiping anything down if it's just general mess. However I wouldn't intentionally leave a massive spill for her. And I make sure the toilets are acceptable. I also empty our nappy bins and any sanitary items as I think that's a bit unpleasant for her to do.

Thanks. Just checking as I asked them to start in the kitchen this week as last time (first clean) they started upstairs and the kitchen didn't really get done properly. Worktops had crumbs and hob needed doing but it wasn't bad. However I heard them comment that 'it must be why she asked us to start in here' so I wondered if I'd left it unreasonably dirty.

They probably don't have enough time to do the whole house perfectly but I thought that if they alternate where they start then upstairs/downstairs will get a good clean every other week.
