Washing machine keeps jumping back in cycle

I've googled this and tried everything it suggests and wondered if anyone else has experienced this issue?

Dishwasher is 4 years old but for past few months it seems to jump back on the timer when it reaches the 20 min mark, which is probably the last Rinse and spin of the cycle. I've emptied out the drawer, cleaned it etc, cleaned the inside, checked filters etc and it still does it. I've tried reducing and increasing the rpm as well and it still does it.

Its temperamental but becoming more frequent now.

You've probably tried this already but if the load isn't balanced it will spin this way and that in an attempt to balance the drum before the spin. If you are washing one big bath towel or just a bathmat it will never balance and it will faff about endlessly. Obviously if you have a normal load of muktiple smaller items then this is not your problem.
