Siemens Zeolith Dishwasher

We have this in our rented home so I can't change it. It doesn't do a great job so I'm wondering if I need to do anything with the container at the back (photo attached). I've got the user guide and I've looked online but I can't find out anything about whether it needs filling, cleaning etc. Anyone know anything about this?

Have you filled up the salt and rinse aid and cleaned out any filters and the rotor Arms if they can be removed for cleaning?

Goigling suggests that's where the zeolite minerals are that assist in the drying cycle. I dont think you're supposed to interfere with the compartment

Thanks for the replies. It does look like a hand with a line through it, I hadn't noticed until I could see it better in the photo. I regularly replace salt and rinse aid and clean the whole filter thing. I haven't done the spray arms, I'll try that
