Is there anything to be done aside from cover it or replace the length of worktop?
I’ve tried carbolic, magic sponge.

It’s do or die, but you could try fine sandpaper, it might get rid of the brown mark but you will still have damage. It might be less obvious though. If the surface is burnt you can’t unburn it, unfortunately, it’s not a surface stain.

Is it actual marble or...?

I have an Encore work surface (like Corian) which can be sanded and repaired.

Bar keepers friend maybe?

Catcrazy83 · 13/02/2022 15:28

Thanks, the magic sponge is pretty abrasive so I think that was my best chance Sad

Bar Keepers Friend is a white powder, comes in a small canister and is stocked in many shops and supermarkets. It can be made into a paste with water to remove marks and stains. I've even worked it into carpets and vacuumed off when dry to remove grease stains.
