New washing machine is too rough

I got a new washer two weeks ago.
It’s a same power 1400 spin as my old one, however it’s much bigger- it takes 10kg load instead of 7kg my old one had.
I noticed that the clothes come out looking bad- like an old rags, fluffy, sequins gets lose etc.
My old one which was only 5 years old and by the way nothing wrong with- I just fancied a new one - never damaged anything.
I got a new sweatshirt yesterday and it has a tiny lace detail on the collar- I washed it on quick 20mins- the lace got all ripped off.
I especially put the sweatshirt into a pillow so it won’t get damaged, however it did.
I’m very disappointed.
Anyone washing machine does the same?
Today I washed my Superdry hoodie, which is thick cotton one- with some sequins on the front. I used to wash this one weekly in my old washer, it got damaged today- the letters are peeling off now..
This new washing machine is supposed to be very gentle with clothes, it said in the description, however it’s the opposite..
Also the pump is very powerful, it makes shocking noise inside my sink, bubbling nonstop, my old one never did this..
I’m idiot I bought this.
Rant over..

What kind of machine is it? Did you turn the clothing inside out?

Bluecatsalltheway · 12/02/2022 11:36

@dementedpixie it’s Hisense 10kg.
Yes clothes inside out.

Is it properly balanced? The only time my clothes got damaged was when it was slightly unbalanced. Check it with a spirit level.

I feel your pain. Our old washing machine broke, after 18 years. Unfixable. Bought new one. I just don't feel it washes things as well as the old one. Especially not whites.

My washing machine is over twenty years old, and I'm dreading having to replace it - I know two people who have replaced machines lately and complain about them. Have you tried a slower spin speed?

I have a 9 kg hiencse, nearly 3 yrs old ( I hate it), never damaged anything, prob wrong cycle

PickAChew · 19/02/2022 21:54

Quick washes are rough. They agitate more to compensate for the lack of soaking.

If you don't want things to get damaged, you need to use a low agitation cycle.

What did you do with the old machine?
