Non-toxic cleaning products for pregnancy

Hi all!

I use your standard hinch smelly stuff, typical bleach and harsh chemicals. Whilst I know that these are fine to be used in well-ventilated areas during pregnancy I'd rather make the switch now to something safer, non-toxic and get ready for when the baby arrives.

Any recommendations? I've been looking at Method but unsure if completley safe!

I really like bio-d range - they do a good multi surface sanitiser which is like a gel. I use it in the bathroom. I try and avoid sprays even the eco ones as I don't think they are good for your lungs. I clean the kitchen with e cloths and occasionally a bit of bio-d washing up liquid. Any raw meat bits are scrubbed well with very hot soapy water. I also like doctor bronners Castile liquid baby soap for the bath and sinks. As I don't have to worry about residue too much. I think keep it simple. The less products you use the better. I haven't bought bleach in years.. just try keep on top of it so you don't need the harsh stuff :)

Hot soapy water for most cleaning. Some salt is you need something abrasive. Some bio washing powder in hot water for floors or where you need something more than washing up liquid. Vinegar and washing up liquid in a spray bottle. I use half and half, but you can dilute with some water and add a few drops of essential oils.

As pp said, keep on top of everything to avoid having to reach for chemicals. I realise now that this would have been much easier for me back in the day if I'd just got rid of 'stuff'. More 'stuff' means more cleaning.
