Daughter has stained brand new bathroom sink - help!

New bathroom just put in. White sink, daughter has stained it with spray in temporary pink hair spray. Have tried cif as that’s all I have at the moment and it isn’t obvious until you compare it to the white splash back and counters.

Is there anything that can restore the whiteness? I’m so upset.

Magic eraser, pink stuff, elbow grease or all 3

Flash with bleach will do you :) but don't leave it on too long. My hair is routinely five to seven different colours and my bathroom is miraculously still white (except the grout which will never recover!) Spray it on, leave it for a few moments and wipe off, rinse and repeat.

Magic eraser also a good call!

Dettol power and pure bathroom lifts all sorts of odd colourings off tie dye/ hair dye. Just spray and give it five.

You need The Pink Stuff, it’s amazing. Mildly abrasive so just check you can use it on ceramic first but I’m sure you can.

OneSugar1 · 30/01/2022 21:27

Thank you, I will pop out for those tomorrow. The entire sink has a tinge of pink as it was a spray - god knows how she got it over the entire thing.

I don’t think I can use anything abrasive like pink stuff on it.

Barkeeper's friend is brilliant for stains.

caprimoon · 30/01/2022 21:43

Hand sanitizer, it worked with sharpies on my marble counter today so might be worth a try?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 30/01/2022 21:46

Hairspray is what hairdressers use,it gets rid of Sharpie on a wooden table (oops! 😉)

maffhew · 30/01/2022 21:48

I second hand sanitiser

Helenahandkart · 30/01/2022 21:54

I used to stain every bath and sink with my coloured hair dye. Bleach will sort it out, even the grout, but not the sealant.

Namast3 · 30/01/2022 21:56

I second flash bleach spray. I stock up on it when I go to Costco.

Sprucewillis · 30/01/2022 22:01

Hairspray will remove permanent marker pen from most surfaces so give that a go. Other than that a ceramic cleaner like the one for Aga's might work.
