My 10 year old vacuum cleaner's not been cutting the mustard recently, so before ditching it and buying a replacement, in a fit of domesticity, I took it to bits. I cleared out all the gubbins, stoor and fluff. I washed the cyclone bits and dust collector drum. I also bought replacement filters. Bloody Nora, what a difference it's made! The suction is so much better and the carpets look cleaner and fluffier than they've done in a long time. Filters cost under £9, so a lot cheaper than a new vacuum.
