Can I replace my iron with a handheld steamer?

I mostly iron smart trousers for work, dresses, shirts. My iron has packed up so wondering if I can just get a handheld steamer and whether it will make my life easier - anyone in the know or have any recommendations for a particular model?

I haven't used an iron for two years since I bought my steamer so it is possible.

It doesn't give the same finish but gives a nice neat finish. I didn't iron so my standards are low anyway but it's not the same.
