Advice on new sofa (cat related)

Sad to say my sitting room reeks of cat wee... main source being the sofa which my elderly cat has had several "encounters" with recently.

I've tried everything (vinegar, baking soda, specialist cleaners etc) nothing works

so have decided to get a new sofa (and waterproof sofa cover too)

What's the best bet for withstanding future accidents fabric or leather or faux leather

I would also aim at prevention and will have sofa cover and cat under heavy supervision.

My cat did a big wee on my sofa when he got shut in. Feather cushions so had to buy new sofa. My house insurance paid up for accidental damage.
