Hot tub question

AnxiousElephant77 · 10/01/2022 16:04

We moved to our new house in August, and there is a hot tub in the garden which we inherited. It’s a bit too cold at the moment for anyone to be interested in getting in, but we’re heating it and topping it up which seems a waste.

For anyone that has one, can we turn it off and then just turn it on again when the weather warms up a touch, or is this not advisable?

TIA.

I haven’t had one for a few years but I would always drain and clean it before leaving empty for any significant period of time.

Yes, you can drain it right down and empty it of water, so it doesn't get any frost damage. If you're not sure how to do it, contact a local hot tub place and they will advise.

We are in ours most nights... The cold clear nights are what hot tubs are for! Have you been to a ski chalet? Sitting in a hot tub surrounded by snow is awesome.

Thank you, it’s just feeling like a waste of money at the moment!
