Grain Mites!

Hi All!

Was hoping some of you could help/share advice.

I've recently just had an infestation of flour/grain mites due to my dogs treats in a tin.

I've cleaned my clean loads and I'm mostly getting rid of them now (I hope) sometimes I look at see 3 or more on some days. It's been roughly 6 days since I've had them so I know they take a while to eventually die off also but it's stressing me out now.

How long did you leave it before they eventually all died off? I've scrubbed my kitchen so many times that I'm not letting them 'dry' out as my cleaning could be making them come out as it's moist. I've opened all windows, day and night and opened all the cupboard draws as there is nothing in them (I emptied it all!)

Can someone please share a good thing like WILL THEY EVER COME BACK? once they've gone?!

I've just had flour weevils in our pantry cupboard. I hoovered the cupboards; bought plastic storage containers and also wiped every packet and tin - apparently they're also partial to the paper labels- with a few drops of tea tree oil in with the disinfectant.
It's been a week and we haven't seen any more.

Hi!

Just wondering how you got on with getting rid of the flour mites?

We've had an outbreak in our kitchen and they are tiny but everywhere now. It happened all of a sudden! We assume from when we bought flour recently to make a cake!

Hope all went well.

Katrina
